Spread love and cheer this Christmas!!
December has come and with it all the joys of Christmas. Though it is true that Christmas is celebrated as the day of the birth of Christ into this world, yet it also symbolizes a very deeply significant truth of the spiritual life. Jesus Christ was born at a time when ignorance, superstition, greed, hatred and hypocrisy prevailed upon the land. Purity was forgotten and morality was neglected. In the midst of these conditions, Christ worked a transformation in the lives of people. He gave a new and a spiritual turn to the lives of people. There came a change upon the land. Thus a new era dawned for the world.
The Christmas tree has become a symbol of the spirit of Christmas in many countries and many, if not all, homes. The traditional colors of Christmas decorations are red, green, and gold. Red symbolizes the blood of Jesus, which was shed in his crucifixion, while green symbolizes eternal life, and in particular the evergreen tree, which does not lose its leaves in the winter, and gold is the first color associated with Christmas as it symbolizes royalty.
The old man with the sack, Father Christmas or Santa Claus is the human face of Christmas. Pictures of him are seen everywhere, with long white beard, red coat and bag of toys. From childhood, children are taught that he brings them presents the night before Christmas. In schools, the occasion is celebrated with real zeal. Children decorate Christmas trees in the class with stockings and gifts under it. Stockings have been an essential part of the Christmas tradition for centuries. Those are empty socks that children hang on Christmas Eve in the belief that it will be filled with presents by Santa Claus. Kids of all nations look forward to Christmas and when the stockings are hung, they know the most anticipated time of the year is not far behind.
This Christmas, let’s remember our childhood and sing carols!
Dashing through the snow
On a one horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go,
Laughing all the way!
Bells on bob tail ring,
making spirits bright
What fun it is to laugh and sing
A sleighing song tonight!
Oh, jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh!!
Rejoice the Holiday Season!!
