Identification of outsourceable tasks is important for law firms
Outsourcing is not new. It has always been a popular way of doing business all over the world. Large corporations to small businesses across all industries adopt this practice to gain its benefits. This has been trending in the legal industry as well. From in-house legal departments to law firms of all sizes – large, small and even solo attorneys are reaping the benefits of legal outsourcing.
We have had firms telling us that they initially found outsourcing not as easy as it is sounded. It was only after a few “not so good” attempts that they understood what works and what does not. While everything cannot be done from a remote location and by someone who is not supervised directly by the outsourcer, there are a number of tasks which can be done from a different location in a different time zone. The key is to identify those tasks. They found outsourcing most beneficial to them when they sent repetitive, tedious tasks as it gave their paralegals more time to do other core works.
One of our clients, a litigation law firm in Philadelphia, recently sought our assistance in a wage and hour dispute involving multiple workers. All that was required was to go through years of pay slips of these workers, extract data and form an analysis to help in putting up the claims. It was surely not a complex legal job but they were stuck because there were hundreds of thousands documents to be reviewed and they did not want their staff to engage in such a time consuming laborious task. We connected to understand the scope of the project, and dedicated a team of a dozen paralegals to complete the project on time and to the complete satisfaction of our client.
At Draft n Craft, we have been assisting US law firms with our litigation support services and enabling them to tap into a large pool of talented workforce.
