Patent Grant & Post-Grant Proceedings Support | DnC

Once a patent is granted, the real work begins. Careful management, error correction, and timeline adjustments are essential to protect your patent’s value and enforceability. At Draft n Craft, our Post-Grant Services are designed to ensure your granted patents stay accurate, defensible, and secured with the full value and protection your patent deserves.

Our Expertise:

Filing Package Preparation

File accurately and confidently.

Our team prepares complete filing packages, including all required forms and supporting documentation, while ensuring compliance with jurisdiction-specific requirements. This helps reduce office actions, avoid filing errors, and accelerate prosecution.

IDS Management

Maintain compliance across every patent family.

Our semi-automated Information Disclosure Statement (IDS) process ensures accurate preparation, timely filing, and efficient management of references across related patent family members, helping you meet USPTO disclosure requirements with confidence.

Shell Office Action Responses

Accelerate attorney review.

We prepare attorney-ready shell responses by organizing examiner objections, formatting headers and footers, and completing procedural details, allowing attorneys to focus exclusively on legal and technical arguments.

Data Verification

Protect your IP portfolio with accurate records.

We review and verify critical IP data—including filing details, bibliographic information, priority claims, maintenance information, and docketing records—to identify and correct inaccuracies before they lead to costly consequences.

Special Projects

Flexible support when you need it most.

Whether it's data migration, file opening, backlog clearance, holiday coverage, or other project-based requirements, our experienced team provides scalable support that allows your internal staff to focus on strategic work.

Post-Allowance Review

Ensure accuracy before patent issuance.

Prior to issue fee payment, we conduct a comprehensive review of the prosecution history to verify bibliographic information, inventor details, attorney information, and compliance requirements, helping prevent post-issuance corrections.

FAQs:

What is covered under data verification?

We compare all IP data maintained in your IP Management System (IPMS) against official Patent Office records. Any discrepancies are identified and corrected to ensure your records remain accurate and current.

Do you perform data verification only for patents?

+

No. We provide data verification services for both patent and trademark portfolios.

How do you verify jurisdictions that are not available online?

+

We work through our trusted global agent network, which provides cost-effective verification services. We are also happy to coordinate with a client's preferred foreign associates when requested.

What information is verified?

We verify bibliographic information, personnel records, inventor details, upcoming docketing deadlines, and renewal due dates.

Which filing documents do you prepare?

+

We prepare all required filing documents, including Application Data Sheets (ADS), specifications, assignments, recordation documents, oaths, declarations, and other jurisdiction-specific forms.

We execute client-preferred Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) before every engagement. All employees are bound by confidentiality agreements, and data access is restricted on a need-to-know basis.

When do you prepare an IDS?

+

We prepare IDS submissions upon client request, during initial filing, before Office Action responses, and as supplemental IDS filings whenever required during prosecution.

How quickly can you prepare an IDS?

Our standard turnaround time is four business days, with expedited service available for urgent requests.

Do clients need to provide all reference documents?

Not necessarily. We can retrieve publicly available references and procure paid references upon client authorization.

Do you use specialized IDS tools?

+

Yes. We use our proprietary Citation Matrix to map patent family members and references, while also working with client-provided IDS and reference management platforms.

Do you prepare complete Office Action responses?

No. We prepare attorney-ready shell responses by organizing procedural content, examiner objections, and administrative details, leaving the legal and technical arguments for the attorney.

Do you provide cited references?

Yes. We download examiner-cited references and can obtain paid references upon client approval.

What qualifies as a special project?

+

Special projects include work outside routine paralegal support, such as data migration, file history downloads, reference entry, file opening, backlog clearance, and similar assignments.

Who performs the work?

Projects are handled by experienced paralegals and legal administrative professionals selected according to their expertise and relevant experience.

We conduct post-allowance reviews before issue fee payment, verifying prosecution history, bibliographic information, inventor details, attorney information, and overall file accuracy.

Can services and reports be customized?
